Cook Islands are situated south of Hawaii, west of Tahiti, and east of Samoa and Tonga, the Cook Islands, and forming part of Polynesia.
Cook Islands is a group of 15 islands, scattered over more than a million square miles of crystal blue water. The group of Cook Islands falls into two groups: the scattered Northern Group are all coral atolls while the Southern Group is of volcanic origin. Rarotonga is the largest and highest island with volcanic interior, coral reef surrounds the island. Most of the island is covered by thick evergreen bush. The best beaches in the Cook Islands are found on Aitutaki, which is part of the eight-island Southern Group. The Northern Group comprises seven islands, the largest being Penrhyn, Manihiki and Pukapuka. |

The largest of the island, mean Rarotonga is still small enough to explore by horse, bike, scooter, rental car or the island bus. Rarotonga offers a wide variety of excellent accommodations, from resorts to hotels to self-catering.
